Watching your weight and eating healthy are all well and good, but for the sake of your own sanity, sometimes you’ve just gotta cut loose and dive into a bag of cookies. Cookies fulfill every requirement of being the perfect indulgent snack: they’re small, they’re delicious, and you can eat about a million of them without even noticing it.

But while cookies are great for hanging out on the couch and catching up with your favorite television show, when it comes to the kind of dessert that you’d be proud to bring to a party or get-together, they just don’t quite cut it. That is, unless you turn them into cupcakes! We’ve collected five delicious cupcake recipes, each featuring some of America’s favorite cookies.

Give them a try, and see for yourself just how smart your favorite cookies can be. You can even create your own custom frosting for each one.

Royal Oreo Cupcakes

Consistently topping the list of best selling cookies in America, Oreo has been a fan favorite ever since its introduction back in 1912. Two chocolate wafers with the creamy filling have made it the cookie of choice for millions of enthusiasts around the world.

As such, no cookie cupcake list would be complete without the “chocolate sandwich cookie” to start it off. This particular recipe is one of Blendtec’s own creations, and is sure to bring a smile to the face of any dessert devotee—just don’t forget to serve it with a glass of milk.

Ingredients

½ standard package of Oreo Cookies (18 cookies)
1 standard package of Mini Oreo Cookies (12 cookies)
1 package white cake mix
1¼ cups water
⅓ cup vegetable oil
3 egg whites
½ cup butter (1 stick) ½ cup cream cheese 3¾ cups confectioner’s sugar 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Combine cake mix, water, oil, egg whites in a Blendtec blender. Blend until the mixture reaches a uniform consistency.
  3. Add regular sized Oreo cookies to blender, Pulse until cookies chunks are completely distributed.
  4. Line a cupcake tin with cupcake liners, and pour the mixture into the tin.
  5. Bake for approximately 20-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of one of the cupcakes comes out clean.
  6. Make frosting by creaming together butter and cream cheese, and then adding confectioner’s sugar and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  7. Remove the fully baked cupcakes, and add a generous helping of frosting to the top of each one. Stick one or two Mini Oreos into the frosted top of each cupcake.
  8. Serve immediately or refrigerate.

Nilla Wafer Cupcake Cheesecake

Although often overlooked by the heavily chocolate-centered cookie crowd, Nilla Wafers are nonetheless extremely popular and decidedly delicious. Turning Nilla Wafers into a delectable cupcakes is actually a very simple process, and only requires a handful of common ingredients. Throw some together and see for yourself. After all, you don’t need chocolate to experience a mind-blowing dessert experience. This particular recipe comes from Cooks.com.

Ingredients

½ cup sugar
2 eggs
8 oz cream cheese (softened)
12 Nilla wafers
Fruit for topping (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a Blendtec blender, combine all ingredients together (except wafers) until smooth. Set mixture aside.
  3. Place cupcake liners in a 12-cup muffin tin, and then place one wafer in the bottom of each liner.
  4. Pour the batter mixture over each wafer, filling the individual liners.
  5. Bake cupcakes for approximately 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of one of the cupcakes comes out clean.
  6. Top with fruit topping and serve immediately, or refrigerate for later.

Milano-Magnificence Cookie Cupcakes

For whatever reason, Milano cookies just seem a little bit classier than other cookies. It’s not hard to imagine a well dressed man or woman sitting in a luxury restaurant being handed a silver platter filled with an elegant arrangement of Milano cookies. And while cupcakes may not occupy the same revered spot in society, there’s no reason why you can’t enjoy a little snazz with your snacking. This particular recipe is one of our own creation, and we think you’ll find it luxuriously enjoyable.

Ingredients

9 Milano Cookies
3 cups cake flour (sifted)
½ tsp salt
2½ tsp baking powder
1¾ cups sugar
⅔ cup butter
2 eggs
1½ tsp vanilla extract
1¼ cups whole milk
2¼ cups canned cream cheese frosting (approximately 24 oz)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Combine flour, salt, baking powder, sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla, and milk together in a Blendtec blender. Blend until smooth.
  3. Add Milano Cookies, and pulse until the cookie chunks are evenly distributed.
  4. Place cupcake liners in a muffin tin, and pour batter mixture into the tin.
  5. Bake for approximately 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of one of the cupcakes comes out clean.
  6. Allow cupcakes to cool for approximately 10 minutes.
  7. Frost the top of each cupcake with cream cheese frosting.
  8. Serve immediately, or refrigerate.

Keebler Fudge Stripes Cookie Cupcakes

Whether they really are baked to perfection by hollow-tree dwelling elves is totally irrelevant, because no matter where they come from, Keebler’s Fudge Stripes Cookies are a slice of shortbread heaven.

The Kellogg company (owner of the Keebler brand) recognizes this fact, and didn’t want to have to wait around for someone else to come up with a cupcake recipe featuring their most popular confection. Instead, they came up with their own Keebler Fudge Stripes Cookie Cupcake recipe, and it is fantastic.

Ingredients

40 Keebler Fudge Stripes cookies
1 package yellow cake mix
2¼ cups canned cream cheese frosting (approximately 24 oz)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a Blendtec blender, prepare cake mix according to directions on box. Blend until smooth.
  3. Add 22 Keebler Fudge Stripe cookies, and Pulse until the cookie chunks are evenly distributed.
  4. Place cupcake liners in a muffin tin, and pour batter mixture into the tin.
  5. Bake for approximately 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of one of the cupcakes comes out clean.
  6. Allow cupcakes to cool for approximately 10 minutes.
  7. Frost the top of each cupcake with cream cheese frosting, and use the remaining cookies (either broken or whole) to garnish the top of each cupcake.

Thin Mint Cupcakes

Of course, when it comes to cookies, even the world’s most famous brands recognize that the Girl Scouts are on to something. Girl Scout cookies are almost universally adored, so much so that many larger cookie manufacturers have even begun to produce their own knock-off versions in the hopes of jumping on the Girl Scout cookie train. Chocolate cake:
1 box devil's food cake mix
3 eggs
½ cup butter (melted)
¾ cup sour cream
¾ cup whole milk
2 tsp vanilla extract

Chocolate Ganache:
1 cup chocolate chips
⅓ cup heavy whipping cream

Mint Cookie Frosting:
1 cup butter (softened)
1 ½ tsp mint extract
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 cups powdered sugar (more to taste)
Green food coloring
10 Thin Mints finely crushed
